Chris Holmes has shocking major plans in his career even if he is not yet fully recovered.
Holmes made his fans feel worried and positive at the same time due to his recent updates. The musician revealed that he has been feeling better following his neck and throat cancer.
At the same time, he recently vowed to go on tours even if he is not yet fully recovered yet.
In his recent update, the former W.A.S.P. guitarist and his wife, Cathy-Sarah Holmes, shared the latest about his health.
According to the wife, who also serves as Holmes' manager, the musician keeps salivating since his saliva glands produce extra saliva to help his body counteract the radiation.
The nutritionist said that it could happen in the next few months.
"I can walk around the block. I don't have very much energy. I've lost a lot of weight - I've probably lost 40, 35 pounds, I'm not exactly sure. But I'm getting better," he said. "I was on a feeding tube that went from my ear through my nose. I've been on that for about two months."
Holmes then revealed that he plans to go on tour in September again. Although he does not know how much - or how little - his recovery will be at that time, he pledged to still go out and tour to give his 100 percent to his fans.
What Happened to Chris Holmes?
Holmes and his wife first confirmed his diagnosis when they announced his absence from the 2022 Monsters of Rock cruise.
In a post on his official Instagram page, they disclosed that he had been diagnosed with throat and neck cancer.
"Recently Chris was diagnosed with a cancer in throat and neck but the medical team have assured us there has been no metastasis and this is a good news. He will have to start as soon as possible a treatment of 7 weeks," part of the post reads.
His former bandmates and fans already sent him well wishes amid the concerning diagnosis. Still, they offered their optimistic vision for a positive outcome.
According to the National Cancer Institute, the type of cancer begins in the squamous cells in the neck. It can also start in the patient's salivary glands, muscles, sinuses, and nerves. People who use tobacco are more at risk of developing the disease.
