The world of rock music is still mourning a month after Depeche Mode's Andy Fletcher passed away. Today, his cause of death has finally been revealed to the public.

Taking to their official social media accounts, surviving band members- Dave Gahan and Martin Gore- asked the late musician's family for consent to reveal that their old pal died of an aortic dissection.

They began their lengthy statement by writing that they wanted to acknowledge the "outpouring love" for the drummer they've seen on the internet for weeks.

"As you can imagine, it's been a strange, sad, disorienting few weeks for us here, to say the least. But we've seen and felt all of your love and support, and we know that Andy's family has too," the band added. (via Pop Culture)

Weeks ago, they received the results from the medical examiners that his family gave them to share with the public, revealing that he died from an aortic dissection while staying home on May 26.

Depeche Mode clarified that although his passing was far and very soon, he died "naturally and without prolonged suffering."

Last week, the band celebrated his life in London, which they described as "a beautiful ceremony." Even though the event was filled with tears, they also recalled their good times and great memories.

He was celebrated by many people, including his family, friends, and others that touched their old pal's life.

"So thank you for all of the love you've shown Andy and his family and friends over the last few weeks. It honestly means the world to all of us. Andy, you'll be missed, but certainly not forgotten," they concluded.

The recent update about Fletcher's cause of death comes a month after the band announced his death, which devastated fans from all over the world.

In early reports, the singer's music career skyrocketed when he formed the Composition Of Sound band in Basildon.

Their band only had three members, including him, Martin Gore, and Vince Clarke.

After Dave Gahan joined the group, they changed their name to Depeche Mode. The band quickly amassed fame, leading them to sell more than 100 million records worldwide.

Since they pioneered synth-pop, electronic music, and the new wave, they later became a part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for their significant contribution to the music industry.
