Reports have emerged about the identity of the now-arrested Chicago Highland Park shooter, hours after the gruesome mass shooting incident occurred.
The shooter, which the police are now considering a "person of interest," turns out to be a musician named Awake The Rapper.
The Chicago mass shooting incident is not the first shooting fiasco that disrupted an event that took place in the past few days.
Chicago Highland Park Shooter Identity Revealed
BBC News reported that six civilians were fatally shot in yet another gruesome mass shooting incident in the country.
The incident happened at a Fourth of July celebration at Highland Park in Chicago, Illinois.
Authorities have noted that the Chicago Highland Park shooter targeted attendees randomly using a high-powered rifle. A total of 24 people were reportedly driven to the hospital because of the incident.
Last night, the authorities finally pinpointed the alleged gunman on the tragic murders. Robert Crimo III was taken into custody in Lake Forest, Illinois, after a brief pursuit with the police. (via Consequence of Sound)
According to the outlet, the alleged gunman was going by the alias of Awake The Rapper.
Apparently, the musician has a small cult following on his now-deleted Spotify channel. One of his tracks even garnered more than a million streams on the streaming platform.
Notably, one of his songs released last year narrates about her mass shooting fantasies and being killed by the police.
The video accompanying the particular song is now taken down - which features Awake The Rapper to be posing in a classroom with ammunition.
It also noted that Crimo's father ran for mayor in Highland Park last 2019 but eventually lost.
Reacting to yet another unprecedented mass shooting, President Joe Biden reiterated his promise on the epidemic of gun violence.
Last month, the United States Congress passed a bipartisan legislation on gun control in the country, which enforces stricter checks on gun purchases.
The legislation came after music personalities, including Jack White, Olivia Rodrigo, and Madonna, among others, have called for stricter gun regulations in the wake of the mass shootings in the country.
Although isolated, Harry Styles' Copenhagen concert was canceled after a gunman let loose in a nearby Shopping mall, leaving many injured and dead.
