After Pearl Jam announced that they were canceling their show in Austria a few days ago due to Eddie Vedder's health struggles, the following tour dates have been postponed as well. The big question is; how's the singer?
Taking to their official social media accounts a few days ago, the band said they were hopeful that the vocalist would make a full recovery in time to perform for their show in Prague, Czech Republic, but upon consulting a doctor in the country, he still doesn't have a voice.
The group clarified that Vedder continues to get treatments for his vocal cords.
Now, they have also canceled their show in Amsterdam, saying it's the "worst possible scenario" for them
"We wholeheartedly apologize to all that worked so hard to put on the show and those supporters we looked forward to seeing. Tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase," they added.
The band said fans can be guaranteed that they are doing everything they can to help fix the situation.
For now, fans can refund their tickets at the point of purchase.
Their next show will be at the Videotron Centre on September 1, and there is still no information if the show is also canceled.
The recent news comes a few days after Pearl Jam canceled their performance in Vienna, Austria, hours before their scheduled show.
In a previous statement, the band said the cancelation is due to "extreme circumstances" from their prior gig at Paris, France.
Eddie Vedder's throat had given up and was "left damaged" after a combination of heat, dust, and smoke from wildfires as they performed in an outdoor venue.
"This is brutal news and horrible timing... for everyone involved... Those who work so hard to put on the shows as well as those who give their precious time and energies to attend," they wrote in a previous statement. (via UPROXX)
This is not the first time Pearl Jam canceled their shows because of health woes as Jeff Ament previously tested positive for COVID-19, forcing them to postpone the remainder of their US tour.
Earlier this year, the band was set to perform in Sacramento and Las Vegas, but both shows were canceled.
Prior to the cancelation, drummer Matt Cameron was also diagnosed with the virus, leading the group to have stand-in drummers.
