Picking the right music and soundtrack for a film is just as important in making a blockbuster movie. Good thing the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been rocking that since the sage started a decade ago.
With most of the plans for Marvel's Phase 4 announced last week at the San Diego Comic-Con 2022, fans are in awe after watching the highly-awaited teaser to "Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever."
Aside from Chadwick Boseman's very palpable loss of presence in the teaser, what struck many fans the most was Kendrick Lamar's thrilling version of "Alright" and Tems' version of Bob Marley's "No Woman, No Cry."
'Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever' Soundtrack Bigger Than First One?
In the newly released teaser, which featured a somber and thrilling vibe dealing with Wakanda's loss of its King T'Challa, played by the late Chadwick Boseman, the film sets up what seemed to be an epic ending to the character's journey.
Weaving the teaser together is Tem's rendition of Bob Marley's "No Woman, No Cry," which prominently opened the trailer.
The Nigerian-born singer recently made waves on the music scene even before earning two BET Awards for Best International Act and Best Collaboration this year.
Aside from Tems, Kendrick Lamar is in the spotlight again on the "Black Panther" sequel.
Lamar's contribution to the 2018 blockbuster hit came in the form of his pen game as he originally composed all the songs on the "Black Panther" soundtrack. The album earned two GRAMMYs Awards and an Oscar, which the latter made history as the first Marvel film to earn one.
In the highly-awaited sequel, it seemed like Kendrick's participation on the album might be repeated as his "Alright" gets a somber rendition, which was played in the trailer along with Tems'.
Fans are enthused with Tems and Lamar's involvement in the soundtrack, which led others to think that the "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" soundtrack might be bigger than the first one.
Who Will Appear on 'Wakanda Forever's' Soundtrack?
Since late 2021 when the project was announced, chatter among blog groups has emerged. Reportedly, big names are eyed to be included in the "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" soundtrack.
According to The Direct, Doja Cat and The Weeknd seemed to be promising candidates for making another hit for the all-black ensemble film.
British rapper, Stormzy is also loud among rumors as he could appeal to a different audience. Meanwhile, SZA and Kendrick could still be on the album, considering their success on the GRAMMY-nominated song "All The Stars."
Fans, on the other hand, are looking forward to seeing Tyler The Creator and Solange Knowles in the upcoming Marvel film.
However, as of this writing, there are no confirmed reports yet as to who will be included on the anticipated album.
"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" is set to release on Nov. 11, 2022, closing the Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
