Ashley Judd opened up about dealing with Naomi Judd's death months after the matriarch took her own life.

Judd's family witnessed Naomi's last moments after she committed suicide in April. Ashley was the first one to find the singer's body.

Although it has been months since Naomi died, the Emmy nominee actress shared another event she and the other family members went through as they grieved her mother.

On Thursday, the "A Time To Kill" star talked to UCLA professor Dr. Jonathan Flint (via The Hollywood Reporter) as part of the university's Open Mind lecture series. She disclosed that she suffered a "freak injury" in the summer and fractured her leg.

The incident reportedly occurred after Naomi's death.

According to Ashley, it happened as she dealt with her mother's passing. In fact, most of the family members faced the same issue.

"Clumsiness is associated with grief, and there were other people in our family, after Mom died, who fell down stairs and had accidents, and that's just what mine happened to look like. It really allowed me to grieve. It really allowed me to stop what I was working on at that moment and to grieve," she said, as quoted by Billboard.

Now that she is healed, she noted that a lot of things have been occurring in her life now ahead of the singer's six-month death anniversary. She has two concerts this weekend, while her sister Wynonna announced the extension of her tour.

Naomi was supposed to be part of The Judds: The Final Tour. However, she has to continue it alone after her mother's death.

With that, Ashley currently feels both joy and sorrow.

Ashley Judd Suffers Troll

Aside from dealing with emotional struggles related to Naomi's death, the actress opened up about being trolled due to her weight gain after fracturing her leg.

Before the recent injury, she also damaged her leg during a hiking excursion in the Democratic Republic of Congo back in February 2021.

Per Ashley, she put on some weight after the injury to ensure a healthy boundary. Still, people reportedly gave her sexist comments as they shared their thoughts about a 54-year-old woman putting on some weight.

For the actress, what she faced only proved that misogyny is a real thing.
