SZA just dropped off a pressed-down but heavily blood-stained single, "Shirt," after mistakenly uploading it on Spotify last week.

The R&B singer is on the first phase of what seemed to be an overdue rollout of her sophomore project that remains untitled today.

Along with the new single that is already out on streaming platforms like Apple Music and Spotify, the cinematic action-packed music video starring Oscar nominee Lakeith Stanfield was also released earlier today.

"Shirt" is SZA's latest single, a follow-up to last year's "I Hate U." Both songs are a part of his upcoming second album, the sequel to her GRAMMY-nominated album, "Ctrl."

Speaking to Complex earlier this year, SZA revealed how the latest single that she released, "Shirt," has ticked off one of her goals in life.

Apparently, working with producer Rodney Jerkins, a.k.a. Darkchild, is a dream for the 32-year-old singer. Now, with the music video for "Shirt" released, that is already one box ticked to her already incomplete bucket list.

Fans will see a familiar face in SZA's "Shirt" music video. Lakeith Stanfield will reprise his role as the songstress' on-screen partner in the music video, like the one he did excellently on the "I Hate U" visualizer released earlier this year.

SZA New Album 2022 Album Release Date Still Unknown

To date, SZA's new album release date hasn't been announced.

Fans of the R&B singer have been patiently waiting for a date for more than five years already after the well-loved reception she got from "Ctrl."

Earlier this year, SZA said that the album is already nearing its release. Before winning her very first gramophone with Doja Cat, SZA was again asked about an update on her upcoming album.

"Very much soon," she responded. But alas, "soon" meant a little different from the singer. Last May, when she was interviewed at the Met Gala, she again hinted at it, saying that it would be a "SZA summer."

While fans anticipated it the whole summer long, all they got were fiery back and forth from the singer and Top Dawg Entertainment Exec "Punch," who was apparently the reason why the album release was delayed.

Eventually, the two resolved the snafu - and both revealed that the album would finally be out within the year.

Just this month, SZA said that the new album rollout would start "any day" and that the music is "5 years of material," which, in her dictionary, is over a hundred.
