Nas made headlines recently not just because of the release of his latest album "King's Disease III," but also due to the home robbery that happened while he was celebrating his new project. The big question is how much his net worth was at the time of the incident.
According to the New York Post, two masked burglars were able to get inside the rapper's home in Calabasas, California, while he was in New York City to celebrate the release of his latest album.
Los Angeles Country Sherriff's officials spoke to the outlet, saying the musician's security guard reported the incident on November 12 at around 8:30 p.m.
As seen on security footage obtained by investigators, the two masked burglars jumped on the fence and broke into the rapper's home. The place was reportedly "ransacked" by the time authorities arrived at the scene.
As of this writing, the rapper has not commented on the matter. Police officials are still investigating the case and there are no details regarding how much was taken from Nas.
Nas Net Worth 2022; How Does the Rapper Earn Millions of Dollars?
According to Wealthy Gorilla, the rapper, whose real name is Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones, has an estimated net worth of $70 million as of November 2022.
He earns money mainly from his music career, but he also has different business ventures; he reportedly owns a FILA sneaker store and he also serves as associate publisher of Mass Appeal magazine.
According to Showbiz Cheat Sheet, Nas makes millions of dollars outside of the music industry as he is a founding member of Queensbridge Venture Partners, an early investor of the popular smart home security company Ring.
After Amazon acquired the company in 2018, the rapper reportedly made a whopping $40 million from the deal.
In addition, Nas is also taking over the food industry as he owns several branches of Sweet Chick, a restaurant that serves the classic chicken and waffle combo with a modern twist.
Nas has been a partner of the restaurant chain for years now and the reason why he got involved is because of his instincts, telling Coveteur that he immediately wanted to be a part of the restaurant the moment he walked in.
"There's a sense of family at each one of the restaurants. It feels like home, and that's what I really like," he said.
