Arcade Fire's Win Butler is yet to clear his name from any misconduct allegations.
Multiple women have since come forward and accused Butler of abusing and harassing them during their relationships with him. Only a few months after the last claim emerged, a fifth woman revealed how the musician was "emotionally abusive, manipulative, toxic" towards her.
In an exclusive report shared by Pitchfork, it revealed that a fifth person - who broke her silence under the pseudonym Sabrina - said that she had a three-year relationship with him. She spoke up after four other people accused him of sexual misconduct from 2016 to 2020.
According to Sabrina, she was 22 when she met the then-35-year-old Butler. She said that the abusive relationship was rooted in the imbalance between them since Butler was a famous musician , and she was just working at a café while taking university classes.
"It was an ongoing abusive relationship. Emotionally abusive, manipulative, toxic, and using his power dynamic to exploit my body at times that were convenient for him. He met me when I was so vulnerable," she said, as quoted by Rolling Stone.
Sabrina said they met in 2015 at the café where she worked, and from there, they began talking and texting. At that time, though, she was dating someone. Still, Butler repeatedly asked her if she broke up with him already.
She also shared similar sentiments to what the previous accusers claimed, saying that their text conversations turned into NSFW talks since he asked for explicit photos. She was already feeling attracted to Butler, but she was afraid he just wanted her body.
In addition, she reportedly approved of the sexual encounters they had. Unfortunately, everything became more toxic when he threatened to cut her off if she did not agree to the sexual favors.
Sabrina Shares Evidence of Win Butler's Wrongdoing
Elsewhere in the news outlet's report, Sabrina shared evidence of Butler frequently texting her and requesting to have intercourse with him. Butler also sent her unsolicited nude photographs.
One of the text messages, dated August 2017, showed how Sabrina told him how his interest in sex made her feel like she was not even a person.
He thanked her for the note before spending the night with her again.
Butler also sent her photos of him doing something in his private area.
Butler and his representatives are yet to respond to the new accusation.
