Legendary Singer Patti LaBelle Joins Cast of 'American Horror Story'

Legendary singer Patti LaBelle is heading to the small screen.

According to TheGrio, LaBelle has officially joined the cast of American Horror Story. She joins existing cast members Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe, Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates for Season 4.

This season reportedly will focus on the last American freak show and will be set in Jupiter, Florida, during he 1950's.

The "You Are My Friend" singer will play Sidibe's mother, a local townie, who begins to unravel the deadly secrets of Twisty the clown killer.

LaBelle is the second musical artist to appear on the series. Stevie Nicks guest starred as herself and appeared on two episodes on Coven, the third installment of American Horror Story.

In addition to LaBelle, ABC reports the world's smallest woman, Jyoti Amge, has also joined the show's cast.

Amge, who is from Nagpur, India, weighs 11 pounds and stands at 2 feet, according to Guinness World Records. She has a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia.

While the show is adding new roles, Lange has announced that she will exit the series following this season.

The Guardian Liberty Voice reports she made the announcement while interviewing during Season 3.

American Horror Story is slated to premiere on FX in October.
