Jade Thirlwall of Little Mix has a lot to be thankful for in 2022. Not only did she and the group get some time off to rest, but they also have the time to pursue their solo careers which are expected to happen sometime next year.
To end a successful 2022 run, Thirlwall threw a big birthday bash for herself and urged-or forced, in the singer's own words-her friends to dress up as celebrities and artists.
The singer shared pictures of herself dressed as Lil Kim during the 1999 MTV Music Video Awards.
"It's that time of year [when] I force my friends to do fancy dress to celebrate my (early) birthday in the hopes of overshadowing Santa," she wrote. "Honoring an icon...I'm the L-I-L to the K-I-M. Disagree? Well, that's you and I'm sorry."
According to Capital FM, Thirlwall invited numerous celebrities to the party, who dressed accordingly. Little Mix member Leigh-Ann Pinnock arrived dressed as Jennifer Lopez, while MNEK arrived dressed as Freddie Mercury's fit in the "I Want To Break Free" music video.
Successful Career, Solo Launch Soon
In 2020, the singer reportedly earned £900,000 with Little Mix, despite the Little Mix-Jesy Nelson fiasco that went down in December of that year. According to Wealthy Gorilla, Thirlwall has a net worth of $8 million.
After 10 years of performing and making music alongside Pinnock and Perrie Edwards, Thirlwall is finally getting the spotlight all to herself this time.
According to reports, she has been planning behind the scenes for this career maneuver and has made the big decision to launch her solo career by assuming a new stage name.
The change won't be drastic though, as she has only decided to go by her first name, dropping her surname; and she will go by only one name like Beyonce, Adele, Rihanna, and Cher.
In March, Thirlwall was reportedly making decisions on what direction she wants to go with for her music.
A source revealed, "She is very clear about what she wants and is eager to find a really unique sound. Jade has a load of tracks which she has recorded on her own but she won't put anything out which she isn't completely happy with.
She shares a manager with Lizzo and there have been talks about trying to get them in the studio together because they are both great songwriters with a similar viewpoint. They could make something really empowering together."
