Jeremy Renner was near his home before the snowplow accident, his representative detailed.
Renner was said to be clearing driveways before the snow accident so his family could get out of their home after the New Year's Eve storm. His publicist, Samantha Mast, unveiled the new details to CNN on Tuesday and revealed that his family was with him when the accident happened.
The "Avengers: Endgame" actor also assisted a stranded motorist at the time of the accident, The Reno Gazette Journal said quoting what Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve said. Mast confirmed it and added that he was helping a neighbor to clear the driveway.
The Washoe County Sheriff's Office scheduled a press briefing on Tuesday afternoon. They are expected to share further details about what led to the accident.
Renner, on the other hand, underwent two surgeries on Monday for his blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries. He remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition after the operation.
"Jeremy's family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families," his representative told People. "They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans."
What Happened to Jeremy Renner?
The "Main Attraction" singer sustained injuries after the snowplow machine, called Snowcat, ran over him while helping someone stranded.
A news outlet released an exclusive video and more details about the incident. The clip shows the actor being loaded onto the chopper and airlifted to a local hospital as he suffered serious blood loss.
After the event, unnamed sources shared statements about Renner and the accident. One said Renner plowed the area to clear the road after a storm. Another revealed that the plowing machine should not have rolled over at all due to its safety features.
One neighbor, a doctor, helped Renner by putting a tourniquet on his leg to stop the external bleeding until paramedics arrived.
Washoe County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health arranged Renner's medical transport to a local area hospital. Its officers reportedly responded to the Mount Rose Highway following a call about a person with a traumatic injury.
The Washoe County Sheriff's Office Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the snowplow accident.
