Back in October 2021, Bad Bunny and his collaborators were served papers for direct and copyright infringement of the hit song, "Safaera," the legal battle was so bad, Missy Elliott even went on Twitter to scold them.
However, according to Rollingstone, the Puerto Rican rapper and his collaborators have reached a preliminary settlement over the claims of the song.
Bad Bunny and DJ Playero's legal camp wrote to the judge presiding over the case: "A draft of a settlement agreement has been circulated, but the parties expect this process to take some time since the settlement is complex and will require the review and approval of multiple corporate and individual parties."
In addition to the agreement mentioned above, the judge also noted that a dismissal of the case should be filed by Feb. 17, or both parties would have to head back to court to report on the status of the settlement process.

Let Down?
According to reports, "Safaera" is one of Bad Bunny's biggest songs, but multiple artists, like Missy Elliott, claim that a portion of the song came from "Get Your Freak On."
The rapper took Bad Bunny to court and won the lawsuit, and now he has to pay her a percentage from the royalties of "Safaera."
Other collaborators of the song, Jowell, had some things to say after the first round of the legal battle.
"Thank you Jowell! Thank you for all the hate your interview is bringing Missy! Had you explained that there was 6 samples and 15 writers maybe they wouldn't all be attacking Missy for no reason because she took 'everything'?" A netizen pointed out after his comments.
He replied, angrily: "F**k that! Let them enjoy their money. It's not you and me enjoying it right? Let them be happy and talk about something else. Missy don't even care. Why would you?"
Unfortunately for him, Missy Elliott did, in fact, care. The rapper took to social media and directly replied to the growing thread: "sadly you mislead all these people to make them think I have 99%. Now I don't talk business on line because that's messy but now we are here I have 25% and there is 6 other samples & 15 other writers on this one song. They got percentage also..."
