Even though Takeoff sadly died on that one at the beginning of November, his Migos co-stars Offset and Quavo are still at odds with one another.
According to TMZ, the two rappers got into a violent altercation backstage at the 2023 Grammy Awards on Sunday while tensions were running high.
Insiders who attended the event claim that Quavo and Offset got into a physical altercation shortly before Quavo was scheduled to sing his song "Without You" as a tribute to Takeoff at the "In Memoriam" section of the program. Even forcible pulling apart was required of them.
It was claimed that Offset was requested to participate in the homage by the Recording Academy, but Quavo refused to let him, which is what caused the altercation. Offset reportedly got into a brawl with Quavo as he tried to join him on stage.
Sources also said that Quavo started the altercation.
Quavo and Takeoff were seen to be very close during Takeoff's murder, while Offset was already leaving the group.
Quavo allegedly created the song "Without You" for Takeoff.
With a lighting shining on an empty seat and a microphone stand from which one of Takeoff's chains hung, Quavo performed in the shadows. Atlanta-based Christian band Maverick City Music performed with him as well.
He sang, "Things ain't the same without you. I don't know if I'm the same without you."
The most moving moment occurred at the conclusion when Quavo approached the microphone at the front of the stage while holding a picture of the late rapper Takeoff and his chain.
However, many who watched the 2023 Grammy Awards were dismayed to find that it was evident that Quavo and Offset are still at odds with one another even with the untimely death of Takeoff.
