It has been 30 years since The Cranberries released their first studio album, marking their decades-long success in the music scene.
The groundbreaking album, "Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?" was released in 1993; it features two of their most popular songs, "Dreams," released in 1992, and "Linger," released in 1993.
To celebrate this milestone, the rock band is releasing a Dolby Atmos Music mix of the album.
"The ATMOS remixes are a whole different listening experience for us," said Fergal Lawler, The Cranberries' drummer.
"It feels more like being onstage at a concert, being surrounded by the band. There are certain intricate parts that subtly pop out every now and then, causing you to feel more immersed in the songs."
It has been several years since The Cranberries has performed any of their songs live, after all, they have announced that they will no longer be releasing any new material after their last album "In the End" in 2019.
"It's hard to believe that it's thirty years later," Lawler remarked. "It seems like it wasn't so long ago because we all have vivid memories of that wonderful time."
"We went through a few false starts before we finally got to begin recording with [producer] Stephen Street in a cozy little studio, Windmill Lane 2, just off St. Stephen's Green in Dublin. We knew Steve was going to do a great job of capturing 'The Cranberries sound.'"
He is referring to the album's sole producer Stephen Street, who has worked with several other artists like Morrissey and Blur.
The Cranberries' Decades-Long Run
The Cranberries consisted of vocalist Dolores O'Riordan, Mike Hogan, Noel Hogan, Niall Quinn, and Lawler.
According to reports, "Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?" boats five Platinums by the RIAA, and it was also the album that propelled the band forward.
It paved the way for The Cranberries' other studio albums "No Need to Argue" and "To the Faithful Departed" which all became highly successful.
They were formed in Limerick in Ireland and were originally named the Cranberry Saw Us.
The Cranberries began making music in 1989 until 2003, when they decided to go on a hiatus; in 2009, they reunited for a tour however it was cut short when they announced that they will be disbanding in 2019.
