Many fans have been waiting for Slipknot's never-before-heard album "Look Outside Your Window" to be released and it appears that it won't drop anytime soon as frontman Corey Taylor seemingly doesn't want it to be out to the public.
According to Loudwire, the mystery album was recorded around the time when they were working on "All Hope Is Gone," which was released in 2008. The creative team behind the unreleased album includes Taylor, Shawn "Clown" Crahan, Jim Root, and Sid Wilson.
The record was said to have 11 new songs and used a unique recording technique as it is experimental. Although all songs were recorded in the same span of time, only one song made it to their 2008 album as a bonus track.
The last time fans heard about the album was in 2019 as the band considered releasing it on Christmas, but it never happened.
Today, Corey Taylor has finally addressed the long-delayed album in an interview with NME, saying he has no idea when it is going to be finalized nor released because it's Clown's project.
The frontman noted that he would get emails regarding the project every year and he's "just as stoked as everybody else because dude, I don't even have a copy. I have a version from 10 years ago that I don't even think is the same mix that they're dealing with."
Further explaining how "out of the loop" he is, the musician noted that he doesn't also know which songs are going to make it to the final cut.
Regarding his contribution to the record, Taylor noted that he was only a "guest star." Despite fans' insistence for its release, the singer hopes it won't see the light of day in the future because of the public's expectations about it in the present.
Shawn "Clown" Crahan previously addressed the record earlier this year when he seemingly revealed a potential release date, saying on April Fool's Day 2023, the band will be done with their current label and the record will "probably come out very soon afterwards."
Teasing fans about how the album would sound, the musician said, "It's an amazing body of work. You will never hear another Corey Taylor like this. The music and the words... it's one of the best things I've ever done in my life."
