Nick Carter asserts he has witnesses who can refute a woman's allegation that he sexually abused her in the early 2000s.

According to TMZ, the Backstreet Boy, 43, has filed fresh legal paperwork in which he claims to have a dozen witnesses who will testify that the alleged victim's complaints are "factually impossible."

Shannon Ruth filed a lawsuit on December 2, 2022, seeking $30,000 in damages, alleging that the "Bigger Than Life" singer took her to his bus, plied her with wine, forced her to engage in oral sex, and then raped her.

The claimed assault took place in 2001, when she was 17 years old and a minor. Ruth also alleges she caught the sexually transmitted disease Human papillomavirus infection (HPV) as a result of the alleged attack, despite being a virgin prior to the purported incident.

The woman asserted that she encountered Nick while in queue for autographs. She also disclosed that she has autism and cerebral palsy. The Billboard Music Award winner asserts that there was no autograph queue on the day in issue and that spectators did not have access to the busses, as fans, security officials, and a talent manager can attest.

A friend of the accuser at the time, according to the legal documents, stated that she does not have autism or cerebral palsy. The witness allegedly also stated that they do not believe Shannon attended the show. Nick has consistently disputed the claims and is filing a $2.35 million countersuit.

That is the amount of money he and his bandmates reportedly lost after having to cancel events and endorsements owing to claims of sexual assault. Shannon, according to him and his legal team, has been misled by father and daughter Jerome and Melissa Schuman in an attempt to extort money from him. Melissa Schuman, previously of the band Dream, said in a blog post from 2017 that she met Nick in 2002 while he was filming "The Hollow."

The post has since been deleted. In 2003, the actress alleged that the singer raped her when they were entertaining friends at his residence. CNN reports that Nick rejected the allegations and the Los Angeles District Attorney did not seek criminal charges since the statute of limitations had expired.

The creator of Incomplete also claims Shannon's prior legal team withdrew after being provided with his evidence.
