Bad Bunny united with Grupo Frontera for a collab song titled "Un X100to," a catchy and chill Regional Mexican song, with an equally chill music video.
Benito joined the six-membered Mexican band in the middle of the desert, dancing and having a great time.
According to reports, this collab effort is been something that the Puerto Rican rapper has been hoping for.
In an interview with Apple Music 1's Zane Lowe, Benito expressed his admiration for Grupo Frontera: "I really love Grupo Frontera because I think they have a lot of feelings in their songs."
Perhaps it's because they are both Latin musicians, the "Me Porto Bonito" rapper sees himself meshing well with their image and music.
"I love the way that they perform, and they made it with the heart just like me. I've been in love with this whole movement, this new movement of Mexican music," he continued. "I think it's beautiful what is happening. It's very necessary because the world needed, I think the world needed to know more about all culture, the Latin culture."
Regional Mexican Music
This is not the first time Bad Bunny has worked with a sub-genre of Latin music, back in 2019, he collaborated with Natanael Cano for "Soy el Diablo (Remix)."
In his interview, the rapper also explained why collaborating with different Latin artists is important for the future of Latin music.
"So, for the new generation, this authentic music, made by young people, that's what I love it. They have the authentic sound, the essence, but with a new color, with a new sound; it's fresh; it's a totally different breath."
"Un X100to"
As per Billboard, the recently released song was composed by Edgar Barrera, the genius behind Ariana Grande and Social House's "Boyfriend"; Madonna's "Medellin," "Bitch I'm Loca"; Camila Cabello and Ed Sheeran's "Bam Bam" and more.
The song's title does not really offer many clues what it's about, but the publication decided to release translated lyrics of the song.
Apparently, it's a heartbreak song. The first verse says as much: "I have 1% left/ And I'll use it to tell you how sorry I am./ That if they see me with another at a club, I'm just wasting time/ Baby, why am I lying to you?/ That they saw me happy is not true."
