Suge Knight was shot multiple times at Chris Brown's party on Sunday morning, and Brown was pretty upset.
"It's disappointing that we as a society can't have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes," he tweeted. "Miss me with the bulls---!!!"
Brown's PR team offered a more nuanced explanation to XXL:
"Chris hosted an event in Los Angeles last night to celebrate the upcoming release of his album X, during which an incident occurred," the message read. "This incident did not involve Chris; he was merely the host of the event. He has and will continue to cooperate with the investigation."
As previously reported, Knight was shot in the stomach and arm around 1:30 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 24) at West Hollywood nightclub 1Oak. It was reported that Knight's wounds didn't look life threatening.
Knight was also shot in the leg at a Kanye West party in 2005, but his most notable incident came in September 1996. That month, he was behind the wheel when legendary rapper Tupac Shakur was shot and killed in Las Vegas.
On Sunday, Knight's family called for respect with a message to the public:
The family of Suge Knight ask that you keep Suge in your prayers and to stray away from the negativity portrayed by the media. Suge is currently resting and has lost a lot of blood, he's human. He's done a lot of things for the community and the culture as a whole so we ask that you respect that.
The unfortunate event put a damper on what was supposed to be a huge day for Brown. He released the tracklist for his new album, X, which will feature several stars including Usher, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, R. Kelly, Kendrick Lamar, and others.
Monday, he was back to focusing on his album with a slew of X-related retweets.
