Would you be down for an Usher Super Bowl performance? If you ask him, he already sees the vision!
The question popped up while the R&B icon was at the Flipper's Roller Boogie Palace pop-up in Los Angeles, California.
Usher Super Bowl Performance Happening?
According to an interview with Access Hollywood, an Usher Coachella performance could be something that the singer could work with in the future.
"I'd be a fool to say no," he told the interviewer. "Well, I mean, you know, things line up that we would all hope. You know, one day that moment will happen."
Usher's bustling discography is actually a non-issue, as he definitely had the hits to back him up.
According to HipHopDX, Usher is no stranger to the Super Bowl. In 2011, he appeared as a special guest to the Black Eyed Peas. He performed "OMG" with will.i.am at the time.
Notably, it was the first Urban act to grace the Super Bowl stage since Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson's controversial super bowl performance in 2004. Jackson's breasts were exposed at the finale of the performance, prompting a nationwide outrage from fans all over the nation and a whopping fine for the network. Jackson's career also had a fallout afterward.
As for Usher, he definitely had the hits and songs to back himself up for a full-blown Super Bowl Halftime performance.
Usher Discography
Regarded as one of the best-selling artists of all time with over a hundred million records sold worldwide, Usher has nine No. 1 singles.
Just from his fourth album, "Confessions" alone, he can already curate an entire setlist - "Yeah!," "Burn," "Confessions Part II," and "My Boo" was all part of the said album.
"OMG" and "More" could also be part of an Usher Super Bowl Performance setlist considering its worldwide acclaim.
As for his Super Bowl Performance Special Guest, a Chris Brown link-up could also be a big moment, especially for R&B fans out there, although careful consideration because of the latter's infamy should be observed.
Justin Bieber could also be a co-headliner on the Usher Super Bowl performance considering their collaborative relationship with each other. It could also be Bieber's time to finally headline the show.
However, all of these are still hanging up on the air, as the annual sporting and musical events are still months away. Earlier this February 2023, Rihanna made a huge musical comeback with her Super Bowl Halftime performance.
