Five Finger Death Punch frontman Ivan Moody revealed more details about his acute hernia injury.
Moody's health issue led his band to cancel its supposed appearance in Metallica's Amsterdam, Netherlands performance. The bandmates decided not to push through with the original plans to allow its singer to recover after undergoing a medical procedure.
Five Finger Death Punch did not disclose further details regarding the injury, but the frontman recently shared how he sustained it.
How Ivan Moody Sustained Hernias Revealed
Following the band's announcement regarding its Amsterdam show appearance, Moody shared a reel on Instagram explaining the story behind his "hernia lottery" that left him with three hernias.
According to the vocalist, he was recording a video when he had to jump around a little. He then suddenly felt something pop on his back but did not mind about it at all.
However, Moody realized something was wrong when he went to a rehearsal the next day.
"[So] I took myself to the doctor and he sat me down and he told me that he was surprised I was still walking," he said. "He informed me that I had three hernias and offered to do them right then and there. It was quick."

Moody said undergoing surgery to correct the three hernias all at once was a shock to his system. He also revealed to fans that he could not talk heavily when he recorded the video message, saying that he could not sit upright comfortably.
Still, his doctors advised him to get it done instead of delaying the operation and allowing it to get worse.
Due to the effects of the surgery, Moody ended up not working. Thus, Five Finger Death Punch did not proceed with its scheduled show.
Ivan Moody Not Taking Pain Medication
Elsewhere in the video, Moody opened up about how he maintains his sobriety amid his health issue. Instead of taking the pain medication he was prescribed with, the vocalist opted to use his "Moody Medicinals" and Ibuprofen to make the pain more bearable.
The frontman has been speaking candidly about his success story of keeping himself sober. Previously, he told Loudwire that he keeps himself away from alcohol by making it his enemy.
Moody ended his video message by thanking Metallica for their support and understanding. He also hyped fans by saying they would return to major festivals this year.
