Young Thug's brother, Unfoonk, has been arrested five months since he was released from jail after taking a plea deal. The former YSL associate was supposed to be enjoying his limited freedom outside bars but was booked again because of a gun charge.
Formally known as Quantavious Grier, Unfoonk was back in jail last May 4, 2023, because of a string of other felony charges.
Young Thug Brother Jailed Again
According to WSBTV, Grier was booked back at the Fulton County Jail after being caught possessing a firearm by a convicted felon and persons associated with a criminal street gang to participate in an illegal activity, among many other traffic charges.
Notably, Grier, in December 2022, Grier took a plea deal in exchange for a commuted sentence. He pleaded guilty to one count of violating the RICO Act of Georgia and theft by a stolen property in the said RICO Case.
He was supposedly scheduled to serve a 12-year sentence with two years commuted to his time served in jail and ten years of probation.
According to HipHopDX, the details of his probations limit his contact with his brother, Young Thug, and other YSL associates until after the case is closed. He would also have to perform 750 hours of community service with a 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. curfew and withholding the possession of a gun.
The very last condition was definitely defied because he was booked under a gun possession charge. However, as of this writing, it has not been clear if these new charges would affect the terms of his existing plea deal or if they would negate it.
Did Unfoonk Snitched Young Thug?
Allegations that Unfoonk snitched on Young Thug came about after he took on a plea deal that many mistook to be cooperating with the prosecution to jail Thugger. (via HipHopDX)
Since the rumors and conversations amplified, Unfoonk had this to say:
"Damn people really think I told on my own brother smh. show me in the paper work I told on anybody lol, I'm not even fenna entertain any of it, peace and blessings," he said at the time.
As for Thugger, he wasn't offered any plea deals to take, despite the majority of his associates, including Gunna, being offered and took it already. Thug's trial hasn't officially started, as jury selection is still ongoing.
