The Tony Awards 2023 officially started honoring the winners of this year's event, with Oscar-winner and Tony Award nominee Ariana DeBose spearheading the event as the ceremony's host Sunday.
The highly-anticipated ceremony started the night with its red-carpet event as it welcomed DeBose after she hosted last year's Tony Awards.
"I'm live and unscripted. You're welcome! So, to anyone that felt like last year was a bit unhinged, to them I say, darlings buckle up!" she said before the show at the New York City's Washington Heights.
Apart from her lively entrance, celebrities and artists also turned people's heads at the Tony Awards 2023 red carpet event, and here are some of the best-dressed among them.
Betsy Wolfe
As the representative of the musical "& Juliet," Betsy Wolfe arrived sporting a light, feathered purple gown that boasted a thigh-high slit and long train. She completed the ensemble with similar-colored pumps.
She is up to win the Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical for her role in the multi-generational musical, "& Juliet."
Lupita Nyong'o
Lupita Nyong'o ditched dresses and gowns and opted to wear a breastplate molded from her own body.
The actress wore a black tuxedo jacket and surprised everyone with a silver breastplate beneath it that almost looked like her real body. The realistic outfit was created by molding it from her own body with the help of Pakistani artist and fashion designer Misha Japanwala.
She complemented it with silver jewels and a tattoo-like design on her shaved head.

Erich Bergen
With Tony Awards 2023's red carpet backdrop designed with greens, Erich Bergen stood out even more despite wearing a green suit. Instead of wearing the usual colors of a tuxedo, he stopped the crowd with his outfit that matched the ceremony's red carpet setting.
Lea Michele
Lea Michelle arrived with her spot-on chin-length bob cut, allowing her sleeveless red and white floral dress to highlight her well-built collarbone and shoulders. Her long dress contained pleats that made her look like a simple but gorgeous prince at the Tony Awards 2023.
Jessica Chastain
Shining bright like a diamond, Jessica Chastain surely prepared the best for her 2023 Tony Awards appearance by opting to wear a bright yellow Gucci gown at the red carpet event. She added another detail by wearing a cape of the same color that enveloped her back and highlighted her neckline.
Chastain also came with a Gucci necklace and slicked-back hair to keep her glam.
Sara Bareilles
Sara Bareilles unleashed her boldest side as she attended the Tony Awards 2023 in a red dress by Georges Chakra. The dress featured massive sleeves that looked similar to its tie, making the skirt look bigger than it seemed to be.
Before her appearance at the awards ceremony, the "Love Song" singer even opened up about going through body image struggles before finally having the courage to present her true self to the public.
