Priscilla Presley, whose daughter Lisa Marie Presley passed away in January, almost endured a further family tragedy. Turns out things can turn around after all - and she'll get her biggest wish yet in relation to the love of her life, Elvis.
Priscilla Presley's desire to be buried at Graceland, which was brought up during her dispute with granddaughter Riley Keough over Lisa Marie Presley's trust, may one day be realized.
In a recent court petition, Priscilla and Keough's May settlement is examined in greater detail. Daisy Jones & The Six star, age 34, must enable her grandmother to be buried in the Meditation Garden of the expansive Memphis, Tennessee property.
Details of the petition were first disclosed by the Los Angeles Times on Monday evening.
According to ABC News, the petition states that Keough, as Graceland's proprietor, will "to the extent of her authority" permit Priscilla's burial and memorial service on the property. Her grave will be placed "at the location closest to Elvis Presley, without disturbing any existing graves."
Presley reached a settlement with granddaughter Riley Keough over her daughter's will on Tuesday, but it denied her a burial place next to her late ex-husband, Elvis Presley.
She said that although she has no plans to leave this world anytime soon, it is her family's and her wish to be laid to rest with her daughter and the love of her life.
This is her firm statement to People, released by her representative.
First reported by TMZ, the settlement involved Lisa Marie's lucrative Promenade Trust.
While Keough was named as the beneficiary, Presley's attorney Ronson J. Shamoun told reporters outside of court on Tuesday that "the families are happy" with the result. "
She shared that her family has resolved all confusion regarding her court petition and request for document interpretation following the untimely passing of her daughter Lisa Marie, adding that "there was never a lawsuit filed against" her beloved granddaughter.

Elvis was famously interred in 1977 on his expansive Graceland property, which has since been transformed into a 200,000-square-foot museum and restaurant complex. There are the graves of his parents, Gladys and Vernon, as well as Lisa Marie and her son, Benjamin Keough. According to People, Presley married Elvis in 1967, eight years after their first encounter.
Even though they separated in 1972 and finalized their divorce the following year, they shared guardianship of Lisa Marie until Elvis's death.
Since then, Presley has repeatedly referred to him as the passion of her life. Her 54-year-old daughter's fatal cardiac arrest prompted Presley to file a petition challenging the "authenticity and validity" of a 2016 document that amended the trust, removing her as co-trustee and placing Keough in charge; the case has since been resolved.
Riley is relieved that the dispute over her mother's estate has been resolved, a source told People of Keough.
She desires no further conflict with her grandmother. She hoped a settlement could be reached soon." CNN reports that attorneys for both parties intend to file a motion to conceal the settlement agreement.
