Today, a large crowd gathered in Bray to pay their respects to the late Sinead O'Connor.
Led by a VW campervan playing Bob Marley and Sinead's hits, her coffin was cheered through the streets, in pictures obtained by Hollywood Life.
Among those honoring her were some of Ireland's most iconic musicians such as U2.
As many mourners wept openly, they sang "Nothing Compares To U" an emotive tribute to the legend who sadly passed away last month at 56.
This morning, in a private ceremony, friends and family of one of Ireland's most well-known singers gathered together to pay their respects.
Presents were President Michael D Higgins and Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, as well as members of U2: Bono, Edge, and Adam Clayton.
Bob Geldof from Boomtown Rats was also there, following alongside a white taxi in which her remains were carried to be laid to rest at her final resting place.
In a eulogy, Sinead was said to have gone through more challenges than most.
Imam Shaykh Dr. Umar Al-Qadri went on to say, "Gifted with a voice that moved a generation of young people, she could reduce listeners to tears by her otherworldly resonance."
"Sinead's voice carried with it an undertone of hope, of finding one's way home. The Irish people have long found solace in song from the sufferings of this lower abode, and Sinead was no exception, and in sharing that solace, she brought joy to countless people the world over."
At high noon today, Sinead's brothers requested that those who wished to bid a final farewell line the coast of Bray in Co Wicklow.
As the cortege passed by accompanied by Bob Marley and the Wailers' "Natural Mystic," it served as a reminder of Sinead O'Connor's long journey - from Dublin to becoming an international sensation in London.
As the hearse carrying her remains, mourners threw blue hydrangeas and roses covering and surrounding her coffin.
In front of the procession was an old Volkswagen camper leading the way.
The vehicle paused outside of her former home for several minutes, allowing those present to say their goodbyes. As they paid tribute, many stepped into the road to touch the car in reverence.
Outside of the home of Sinead O'Connor, a colorful Volkswagen was parked.
On its roof were mounted speakers playing her tunes for those who had gathered to pay their respects. As "Nothing Compares To U" filled the air, many sang along nostalgically.
A tear or two may have been shed during "Scarlet Ribbons," which speaks of living to a hundred years old, and when each song finished the crowd applauded in appreciation.
As the funeral procession came to a halt beside her former residence, "Natural Mystic" by the legendary reggae artist, Bobby Marley, began to bellow from its speakers.
Although her casket was barely visible beneath an array of blossoms, massive applause spontaneously erupted from the crowd of 5,000 people as they enjoyed the music of their beloved queen.
