Earlier this week, Sam Asghari filed for divorce from Britney Spears, citing irreconcilable differences. Asghari also gave some dubious claims, including a sizable prenup which leaves him nothing, and even alleging that he was physically abused by Spears during their relationship and marriage.
However, Britney Spears, who appears unbothered by all the drama has received support from celebrities like Pink and Octavia Spencer.
Pink Shows Support For Pal Britney Spears
During her performance at the Summer Carnival Tour on Aug. 16 at the Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan, Pink made a poignant decision to change the lyrics of her song "Don't Let Me Get Me," to show support to the embattled singer.
Instead of singing "Tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears," she sang "Sweet Britney Spears," which was met with extreme adoration from the crowd at the time.
"She's so pretty. That just ain't me," Pink continued to sing.
In the past, Pink and Britney have been compared extensively given that they emerged at the same period in pop history. In an interview with People Magazine in February 2023, Pink had this to say about the pop star.
"People think I was picking on Britney on [my 2001 single] 'Don't Let Me Get Me,' but I've always felt like a big sister to her," she said. "I'm very protective of her, and she's the sweetest person in the world."
It wasn't actually new news that Britney Spears suffered severely during her conservatorship which she has since been liberated from.
After her lovely wedding to Sam Asghari, fans were surprised to learn that such turmoil was happening between the two of them.
Octavia Spencer Gave Cautious Wedding Advice
On the other hand, Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer also weighed in. Well, actually she made the comment ages ago when Britney Spears announced her engagement with Asghari.
"Make him sign a prenup," she commented bluntly on the post. However, she immediately deleted the comment and later released a statement about it.
"Y'all, a few days ago Sam and Britney announced their engagement and me being me I made a joke," she commented later on. "My intention was to make them laugh not cause pain. I've reached out to this lovely couple privately to apologize and now want to restore just a smidge of happiness they were robbed of."
The said comment has since then resurfaced on social media following the recent happenings between the couple.
