Flo Rida Bio
Tramar Lacel Dillard (professionally known as Flo Rida) was born on September 16, 1979 in Carol City, Florida. As a teen, Flo Rida went on tour as a hype man for 2 Live Crew's Fresh Kid Ice. By 2006, the then-aspiring rapper started to appear in famous mixtapes music. One of the mixtape music feature Flo Rida was popularly included on was on DJ Khaled's "Bitch I'm from Dade County." In this collaboration, Flo Rida worked with Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, Trina, and Dre of Cool & Dre, as per All Music.
Flo Rida is internationally known as "Sunshine State MC". He is notably famous for being a party rap king of the late 2000's.
How Flo Rida Professionally Started His Music Career
During the same year, in 2006, Flo Rida signed a recording contract with Atlantic-distributed, Poe Boy. Flo Rida's debut album, "Mail on Sunday" was released on March 2008. In 2009, Flo Rida released his sophomore album called, "R.O.O.T.S. (Route of Overcoming the Struggle)". This album yielded the hit single, "Round", which featured the music debut of Kesha.
Flo Rida Hits and Accomplishments
Flo Rida's third record, "Only 1 Flo Pt. 1" was released in 2010. Some of the songs in the rapper's third album were produced by dance music artists such as, Axwell, Benny Blanco, and David Guetta. Flo Rida's 2012 album, "Wild Ones," also utilized dance music, with contributions from artists, such as Dr. Luke, Avicii, and Axwell. "Wild Ones" generated hit songs called, "Whistle," "Good Feeling" and the album title track, "Wild Ones", featuring Sia. In 2015, Flo Rida released his fourth EP album, "My House."
Flo Rida's debut album, "Mail on Sunday" yielded the lead single, "Low", featured T-Pain. This hit single was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for ten weeks. The latter half of the 2010's saw Flo Rida releasing mostly music project collaborations. Among of these projects were 2016's "Hello Friday" with Jason Derulo, 2017's "Cake" with 99 Percent, a 2018 solo single titled, "Dancer," and 2019's "Snack", with E-40 and Sage the Gemini.
Flo Rida is Grateful to His Hometown
Flo Rida pays homage to his hometown of Miami Gardens in Florida by giving credits to a couple of places in the area in his hit song,"Welcome to My House." As per CBS News, in the said song, Flo Rida sang about a $10 million complex, which encompasses Studio 183 night club, a comedy club with a roof top lounge, and a shopping center located between NW 2nd Avenue and 183rd Street.
