The popular 1990s boy band, NSYNC got an unexpected joke from their contemporaries, 98 Degrees.
As 98 Degrees chatted with Andy Cohen, the band cheekily mentioned that their reunion was happening around the same time.
During their recent SiriusXM interview, the band members were asked what they thought about another boy band sharing the stage at last week's MTV Video Music Awards. To which singer
Nick Lachey, jokingly replied: "Stole the thunder!"
The discussion also touched upon their new music and touring plans for upcoming months.
In an incredible moment of nostalgia, NSYNC recently released a recreation of one of their most iconic band photos from when they were at the height of success.
The photo accompanied an announcement that the group is releasing a new single entitled "Better Place" - their first in 20 years!
Alongside this special throwback came the caption: "Who had us pose like that?!" Referring to the fun and quirky poses taken during the original shoot.
98 Degrees also expressed their opinion on the reunion of NSYNC and noted that it positively affected their group.
"When one succeeds, we all succeed. Because we're all kind of like us, NSYNC Backstreet Boys, we're all clumped into the same pile there. So, if one's elevated, it elevates everybody," Drew Lachey said.
Nick also expressed his thoughts on the situation: "I'm excited for these guys as well. We know them quite well by now, and I hope they have this big moment that they've waited so long for. Cross your fingers..."
98 Degrees comprises four members: Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons, and Justin Jeffre.
They recently announced that they have reunited to celebrate their twenty-fifth anniversary by releasing new music and going on tour.
For many years, these accomplished musicians had pursued their paths, having gone their separate ways since 2003.
However, after a decade-long break, they reunited twice to produce two albums: "2.0" in 2013 and "Let It Snow" in 2017.
The members of this band take pride in their solid work ethic, and they assert that it has allowed them to compete with other boy bands.
During an interview with Us Weekly, Drew commented on why they consider themselves the "blue-collar boy band."
Nick also said, "Our mindset was always, 'You might out-dance us, you might out-sing us, but you sure as hell won't out-work us.' We discovered the old-school way, singing for money and food. I'm very proud of how we came up."
