U2 is gearing up for their biggest shows ever as they would be the first musical act to perform at the massive and mega-technological venue, The Venetian's Sphere, in Las Vegas, Nevada, later this year.

More recently, frontman Bono gave fans an insight into their rehearsals and it seems like things did not go well.

The group recently appeared on CBS News to talk about their preparation for the concerts. When Anthony Mason asked if the group had already rehearsed, Bono replied: "yeah, we did one last night and it didn't go very well. Thank you for asking, though."

Even though the musician said it in a sarcastic and funny way, Edge added, "It wasn't that bad."

"That's what we started out wanting from the very beginning of the band... Just to smash the fourth wall, get to our audience," Bono said of their shows.

To celebrate the Las Vegas residency, the band will also drop new music as they're set to release the track "Atomic City" along with a brand new music video on the same day of their first concert.

According to Consequence, the shows will run from September to December.

U2 Las Vegas Residency 2023 Will Not Feature Larry Mullen Jr.

Bono, Adam Clayton, and The Edge will all be present at U2's series of concerts this year, but their other member, Larry Mullen Jr., decided not to join his bandmates as he needed to focus on his well-being.

In early reports, the drummer underwent surgery after he suffered from an injury and he needed some time to prioritize his health.

Clayton said in a previous statement that they are going to miss Mullen Jr. as he continues to recover from his health issues.

The legendary drummer will be replaced by Bram van den Berg, a popular Dutch rock artist who played for the group Krezip.
