Game decided to dish out album-designing duties to his fans, and they came through.
The Los Angeles-area rapper posted the winner of his design contest on Thursday, a Ruben Ramos piece that will front Blood Moon: Year Of The Wolf.
Via Game:
In the end it was the concept (the world sees me as a big bad wolf but to my daughter @littlemisscali I'm just dad & her every wish in life is my command), simplicity & white background & Documentary style font had me sold.
Blood Moon is due Oct. 14. Check out the art:
To appease fans who weren't selected, The Game announced a new contest for his second forthcoming album, The Documentary 2:
I told my fans not to be discouraged with not winning the #YearOfTheWolf album cover contest because I had something else in store for you..... Now I'm giving ALL MY FANS just about 4 months.... From today.. Sept 4 - Dec 24th to nail the artwork for "The Documentary 2" album that will be dropping January 18th 2015 exactly 10 years from my 1st album "The Documentary" which dropped January 18th 2005.
The original Documentary is a rap classic that dominated airwaves back in '05. Obviously, it's financially beneficial to hearken back to that theme, but Game appears to be putting a lot on the line emotionally here:
This album will be my 6th solo album & is very special to me & definitely to my family & fans as well as defines my legacy so be very careful to make your entry both artistically amazing yet original & simplistic.
For some reason, The Game also decided this past Wednesday was the perfect opportunity to release his "Tuesday" remix.
Cognitive dissonance aside, the new track is true to its origins. Utilizing a completely out-of-character AutoTuned voice, Game works through a long verse about women and clubbin'.
"They know we goin' up," he sings. "Cuz it's Tuesday."
Of course, the original "Tuesday" belongs to ILoveMakonnen, whose meteoric rise through the music industry began with his viral music video, "Club Goin Up On a Tuesday," which he posted on YouTube in early July.
