Tragically, the life of pop star Aaron Carter came to an end after a drowning accident.

Now, his son is taking action against those he holds responsible, namely, doctors and pharmacies, that had weakened his father's mental state.

A lawsuit filed by young Princeton Lyric Carter, son of Aaron, states that doctors prescribed Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, and Alprazolam without any medical need and despite being aware of his father's "mental health and psychiatric condition."

TMZ obtained details of the litigation.

A wrongful death lawsuit has been brought against Walgreens, with Aaron's family accusing them of negligence when it came to his prescriptions and medical history. On November 5, 2022, Aaron was discovered by his housekeeper in his bathtub.

Melanie Martin, Prince's mother, filed the lawsuit on his behalf.

Aaron Carter's Cause of Death

Early this year, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner released the results of Aaron Carter's autopsy.

Consequently, it was determined that his death was accidental, and he had drowned in a bathtub due to taking alprazolam (the generic form of Xanax) combined with duffluoroethane (the gas used in cans of compressed air).

Toxicology reports revealed that a sedative called alprazolam, better known under its brand name Xanax, was detected in his system.

In addition, traces of dicofluoroethane were present; this gas is often used as a propellant for air freshener products and can elicit feelings of euphoria with inhalation.

Aaron Carter Final Resting Place

Early this month, Angel Carter, the twin sister of Aaron Carter, revealed where his final resting place is located.

Taking to her social media account, she posted a picture of a bronze plaque that showed a beautiful carving of her brother's face.

"Aaron's portrait was placed this morning at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills," Angel captioned the photo on Instagram. "He adored his fans, and I know how much this would mean to him now having a final resting place where we could all celebrate his life."

She went on to add, "I invite you to visit, share your memories, and never forget who Aaron was deep down," and completed the post with a dove emoji and a white heart.

Aaron Carter Career

Aaron, the younger brother of the Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter, was once a child celebrity and renowned pop star.

His iconic songs included "I Want Candy," "Aaron's Party (Get It)," and "That's How I Beat Shaq."

On tours, he joined in support of his brother's band, the Backstreet Boys; moreover, at age nine, Aaron released his first album as a solo artist.

The former child star experienced a stellar career with the release of "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" in 2000, achieving triple platinum status. As time went on, however, Aaron's relationship with those closest to him began to deteriorate, causing financial distress that eventually led him to file for bankruptcy in 2013.
