Selena Gomez told her Instagram followers that she was deleting social media once and for all after she was slammed for her opinion on the current Israel-Palestine war in the Gaza Strip.

Following her bold pronouncements, Selena Gomez did not actually delete or deactivate her account, she has been spotted showing love to an artist in the comments, and now signing a ceasefire letter appeal to President Joe Biden.

"I've been taking a break from social media because my heart breaks to see all of the horror, hate, violence, and terror that's going on the world," she said in a now-deleted Instagram story. "People being tortured and killed or any act of hate towards any one group is horrific."

Since then, people online have slammed Gomez for allegedly being in the middle and trying to shift the attention to her.

"I'm sorry if my words will never be enough for everyone or a hashtag. I just can't stand by innocent people getting hurt. That's what makes me sick. I wish I could change the world. But a post won't," she went on to say.

However, even if she said she'd be deleting her account, she didn't, and she was active too. Very recently, she showed some love to SZA by commenting on one of her photos.

Now, fans are even more vicious in their comments against Selena Gomez because she signed a letter to President Biden urging for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Selena Gomez Wants Ceasefire in Gaza

According to WION News, Selena Gomez joined a string of A-List celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Gigi Hadid, Zayn Malik, and Bradley Cooper, among many others in asking President Joe Biden for a ceasefire.

Their initiative has garnered support from prominent organizations like Oxfam America and ActionAid USA.

However, Gomez was still slammed for taking action, as people believed that this was only "damage control" rather than "activism."

"trying to fix her own image is not...," a user wrote.

"Why am I getting a feeling that she's just doing that to stay relevant," another commented.
