Normani is a fan-favorite star, and after her stint with Fifth Harmony, netizens expected that the singer would carry on to become one of the most successful members of the girl group; however, she still has not released a debut studio album-what is taking her so long?
Pop Tingz, a pop culture account on X (formerly known as Twitter), shared a screenshot of Normani announcing that she was working on new music back in July 2018-with the caption "Taylor Swift has released eight albums since this tweet, [by the way]."
"I have my album title, y'all," the singer wrote, and beneath it lies a chain of responses from a fan who has replied to Normani's tweet every single year.
"One year... ur [sic] sick," the fan wrote in June 2019, and they commented once again the following year with "Two years.. Ur sick," and once again the next year with "Three years... ur sick."
On June 2023, they commented once again: "Five years... ur sick."
Normani Announces New Music
According to reports, Normani's management team revealed that the singer was gearing up for new music back in August.
She switched management teams and is now being handled by Brandon Creed, who also handles Charli XCX and Troye Sivan, and Lydia Astrat, who handles Coco Jones.
"With new music on the horizon, and Asrat and Creed now at the helm of her musical career, she and the rest of her team are extremely excited to embark on this new chapter and partnership," a rep for the singer announced.
The major announcement came shortly after she left S10 Entertainment in May; "Change is good. S10 is headed in another direction and felt like it was time for us to move on.
"We achieved incredible success together over seven years. We wish her nothing but the best in her future," S10 Entertainment said about Normani's departure.

Normani's Debut Album
Since she left Fifth Harmony, Normani released several songs including her highly successful hit "Motivation," "Dancing With a Stranger" with Sam Smith, and "Diamonds" with Megan Thee Stallion.
The singer's latest releases are "Wild Side" featuring Cardi B in 2021 which earned a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America, and 2022's "New to You" with Calvin Harris, Tinashe, and Offset."
For 2023, though, there still seems to be no debut studio album or even an EP in sight.
