Pearl Jam shared the first two shows of the band in 2024.
Following the success of its 2023 tour, Pearl Jam is gearing up again ahead of the release of its next studio album and its accompanying shows. But before these happen, the Seattle group confirmed its first two shows next year.
Pearl Jam Confirms First 2 Performances in 2024
Pearl Jam confirmed on its website that the rockers will perform at the Mad Cool Festival in Madrid and the NOS Alive Festival in Lisbon on July 11 and 13, respectively.
It will share the stage with Dua Lipa, Smashing Pumpkins, Bring Me the Horizon, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Jessie Ware and Tom Morello, among others at Mad Cool. Many performers will travel to NOS Alive to rock the stage, as well, with Floating Points, Khruangbin and more acts.
The good news came after the band scored a new milestone as its album, "Vs.," appeared on seven Billboard charts this year.
As for the new album, Matt Cameron recently revealed that the new project "is ready to go" during his appearance on "The Vinyl Guide" podcast.
"We're sort of figuring all that stuff out right now, but we did make a record with Andrew Watt that's in the can - mastered, mixed, ready to go," he said. "And so I think the powers that be are trying to figure out when that's gonna come out and touring and all that kind of stuff."
He also shared how he thinks Pearl Jam will hit the road in 2024 with the yet-to-be-titled album.
This resonated with what other members said in their respective interviews in the past few months.
Pearl Jam's Shows Returning to Normal
Elsewhere in the podcast interview, Cameron shared with the host the current status of the band's touring, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We did kind of a big tour in 2022, and we had to wear masks and the crew had to wear a mask, and we had to test and it was just no fun. We got through it great, and the crowds were fantastic. We just did a little run this past September and that was kind of back to normal," the musician said.
He added, "I caught COVID during that that tour, unfortunately, but I think in general the touring industry is pretty much back to normal."
