Celebrity country musician Jon Pardi gave his New Year's resolve a head start when he declared that he had "retired" from alcohol use.
And now that he has been living a sober life for nearly four months, the Ain't Always The Cowboy actor is talking about all the advantages of his recent life adjustments.
In an interview with Amazon Music's Country Heat Weekly podcast, Pardi disclosed that he discovered he had pre-diabetes and decided to kick the alcohol.
He remembered, "I was simply like, "I gotta quit," People said. Consequently, he claimed that after going 112 days without drinking, he "lost a bunch of weight."
Feeling 'unhappy' about his weight and his pre-diabetic diagnosis, Pardi described how he took the opportunity to use his health at the time as motivation to make significant life changes. He talked about how his appearance in the beginning of 2023 left him feeling quite unhappy, and how that had an impact on his mental health.

"I was so unhappy with myself in every picture and video," the country music star admitted to Kelly Sutton and Amber Anderson, hosts of the show. "And I needed to just take a break where I was going." He lost weight over the break and gained greater self-assurance. "I recently completed a photo shoot and felt like... "
He laughed and exclaimed, "Damn, I look good. Take that, Tito's!" referring to the well-known vodka brand. "However, I can assure anyone who is considering it that quitting drinking will greatly aid in weight loss if they do so."
He didn't go so far as to declare that he would never drink again, but he did display some humor while talking about his new sober lifestyle. Alright, I'm retiring. Doesn't imply I can't leave retirement,' he remarked. But it's been fantastic so far.
According to RFD TV, Pardi has been out and about promoting Merry Christmas From Jon Pardi, his debut holiday album, which was released in late October.
The 12-track album, which was produced by Pardi, Bart Butler, and Ryan Gore, features original songs like Beer for Santa, 400 Horsepower Sleigh, and Merry Christmas From The Keys in addition to holiday favorites like Please Come Home for Christmas and All I Want for Christmas Is You.
