Normani stunned audiences and fans with her appearance on the red carpet of her debut feature film "Freaky Tales," but she also shocked many when she finally confirmed-herself-that she is gearing up to release new music.
"I want this to come out just as bad as you guys do. I think that that's like such a misconception," the singer told Deadline about the upcoming release.
"I want this project to come out more than literally anybody. But it's literally the best music that I've made and I couldn't be more proud. And I know that once it comes out, you guys are gonna be like 'okay, the wait was definitely worth it.'"
This is not the first time Normani has promised that she will be releasing music; after switching managements, the singer's new team announced that she was working on new material, but did not specify when it would be released.
"With new music on the horizon, and Asrat and Creed now at the helm of her musical career, she and the rest of her team are extremely excited to embark on this new chapter and partnership," a rep for the Fifth Harmony alum said.
Normani Pursues Acting
Fans have been worried that the singer was changing career when it was announced that she was to star in a film alongside Pedro Pascal.
Many thought that the singer forgot she even had a music career, after all, there has been radio silence from Normani since her 2019 single "Motivation."
In fact, many think that the singer is bluffing even after confirming that she has music coming soon.
"It's also the only music she's ever released," one wrote
"THAT MUSIC IS NOT COMING OUT," another added.
"The hype has gone down."
"The replies saying 'see you in 10 years' SHUT UP."
"I don't even trust I'll ever hear the music."
Normani Gatekeeping Albums?
In October 2021, Normani revealed that she had several albums worth of music up her sleeve, but still has not released it for some reason.
"I've been sitting on - I have probably two, three albums worth of music," the singer said, noting that "insecurities" prevented her from even coming close to releasing them.
"In terms of my career and my music, I know the wait has been extensive but it's definitely going to be worth it," she said.
