• Apple Targeting Taylor Swift and Florence + The Machine for Streaming Service

    The war between streaming services is growing more intense by the day, and the new battleground, seemingly broken by TIDAL, is exclusive content by artists and content partners. According to a new Bloomberg report, Apple is making its move to try and gather some exclusives of its own, targeting major pop stars like Taylor Swift, Florence + The Machine and more than a dozen other artists.

    Tyler, the Creator took to Instagram last night, April 11, to unveil the tracklist for his upcoming, somewhat of a surprise, sophomore artist album 'Cherry Bomb.' The "Yonkers" rapper unveiled plans to release the album only three days ago, while sharing the first two singles from the LP, "DEATHCAMP" and "F**KING YOUNG / PERFECT." The tracklist does not show any of the features on the album, unfortunately, but we do know so far that Track 11, titled "Smuckers," has Lil Wayne and Kanye West credited and "F**KING YOUNG / PERFECT" features Charlie Wilson, Toro Y Moi and Chad Alexander of the Black Lips.
  • SoundCloud Partnering With Zefr, YouTube's Copyright Enforcement Manager

    SoundCloud has announced a new partnership with Zefr, a content tracking company that currently works with YouTube to help identify songs on the platform and better facilitate either takedowns or ads being run against it. This means Zefr is YouTube's copyright enforcement manager. The announcement is light on the hard details of what the two companies plan to do together, though Zefr states it will "better understand the sharing of content on the platform." Some users are worried it could mean a stricter copyright enforcement and more ads.
  • Nelly Arrested in Tennessee for Alleged Felony Drug Possession; Guns Also Seized

    Nelly has been arrested in Tennessee on charges of drug possession after an incident this weekend. The emcee's bus was pulled over for not having required stickers and police came aboard when they smelled marijuana. A few other charges have been filed, although some pertain to the rest of the crew riding the bus and not the rapper himself.
