Kid Rock Announces New 'First Kiss' Album, 'Cowboy' Singer to Tour Summer 2015
Kid Rock dropped the release date for his 10th studio album, "First Kiss," yesterday, Nov. 12. The "Cowboy" singer's follow-up to 2012's "Rebel Soul" will be out Feb. 24 with a tour planned for summer 2015."First Kiss signals the continued evolution of one of music's most versatile performers," reads a press release, "Billboard" noted. "But we're not going to tell you what it sounds like — we just couldn't do it justice and we're confident the music will speak for itself."The entertainer produced a majority of "First Kiss" himself following his last U.S. tour in 2013. Reps for Kid Rock promised that details on a summer tour would be announced soon. In the meantime, fans can catch the rocker on his Chillin' the Most Cruise in March. -

Garth Brooks returned to recording with "Man Against Machine" Tuesday, Nov. 11, making the release his first since 2001's "Scarecrow." Now that he is back in the public eye, Brooks decided to join Twitter and Facebook to connect with fans, and "The Dance" singer's first-day numbers are pretty staggering.According to "CMT News," Brooks joined Twitter the morning of his album's release date, posting a selfie that currently boasts 2,141 retweets and 4,993 favorites. By Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 12, the country icon amassed 69,000 followers, which CMT figured out amounted to 45 followers every minute. As of today, Nov. 13, Brooks has more than 77,000 followers, but only follows nine people. Wife Trisha Yearwood and Brad Paisley made the cut, as well as actor Chris Pratt, "Good Morning America" host Robin Roberts — whom the singer brought to tears with a tender rendition of "Mom" — and TV personality Ellen DeGeneres. -
Richard Branson Denies Offering Led Zeppelin $800 Million to Tour Days After Robert Plant Called the Story 'Rubbish'
Virgin billionaire Richard Branson has joined Robert Plant in denying that there was ever an $800 million contract to try and get Led Zeppelin to reunite for a tour. The singer called the "Daily Mail" article "rubbish" earlier in the week, and now representatives for Branson have confirmed the story was fabricated."Forbes" reached out for comment on the matter and here is what the publication got: "There is no truth to the story that Richard Branson offered members of Led Zeppelin £500m[illion, or $800 million] to reform and carry out a tour, nor had Richard been in discussion with the band about any such tour," a representative wrote via email.The fake deal would have earned Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham some serious dough, but, as the story went, the frontman ripped up the contract in front of stunned promoters. Branson also reportedly offered to rename one of his jets "The Starship," in reference to the band's old touring airplane, to shuttle the band from venue to venue. This was also untrue. -

Taylor Swift had the makings of a star even when she was a 12-year-old. Old video footage of the young "Shake It Off" singer performing the national anthem at a Philadelphia 76ers game in Pennsylvania recently went viral.Swift, a native of Reading, Pennsylvania, is shown in the brief clip below belting the last few lines of "The Star-Spangled Banner," including the challenging "o'er the land of the free" part, "The Huffington Post" reports. The singer does a spectacular job, considering her age at the time. I am sure no one knew Swift would one day rule the charts after listening to her performance, but she had plenty of years to improve. The next T.Swift is out there, though, so do not disregard any youngster you see belting out the beloved song.In case you missed it, New Zealand singer Lorde was also an excellent singer at age 12. -

Daft Punk is getting ready to give two of its live albums the vinyl treatment. The "Get Lucky" duo plans to reissue "Alive 1997" and "Alive 2007" as vinyl LPs along with a few extras.According to Modern Vinyl, the "1997" live album was last pressed in 2001, while "2007" was never put out as a vinyl record. The version of "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" on the latter album earned the duo a Grammy in 2009 for Best Dance Recording. Calvin Harris beat out some tough competitors like Avicii, David Guetta and Hardwell for the title of Best Electronic Artist at MTV's European Music Awards Sunday, Nov. 9. The EMA win was his first after four previous nominations.The network announced prior to the show that Harris would not be able to perform at the event: "Hey #MTVEMA fans — we have some really sad news. Calvin Harris has taken ill and will not be able to perform at tomorrow's show. He sends his sincere apologies. Get well soon, Calvin!"According to BBC News, the cancellation was due to some heart issues, which Harris revealed in a tweet that has since been deleted."No EMAs for me this weekend. Robert Plant Deems $800 Million Led Zeppelin Reunion Story 'Rubbish'
Fans far and wide marveled at the recent reports of former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant ripping up an $800 million contract for a reunion tour with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones. The proposed deal was allegedly bankrolled by Virgin founder Richard Branson, but Plant's publicist quickly denied the claims after the story began to garner attention.The publicist's statement on behalf of Plant was that the whole thing was "rubbish," "The Guardian" reported. Now all we are left with is a fictional story from the "Daily Mirror" about how Page, Jones and original drummer John Bonham's son Jason all signed on to do a 35-date tour for major money, and Plant ripped the document up in front of the promoters. To sweeten the deal, Branson even reportedly offered to rename one of his jets "The Starship," in reference to the band's old private plane, to take the musicians to different venues. -

Midway through his 1990 hit "The Dance" in Minneapolis Friday, Nov. 7, Garth Brooks noticed a sign.Terry Shaw, a fan and cancer patient, was holding a sign for the country star to see: "Chemo this morning, Garth tonight, enjoying 'The Dance.'"Brooks wasn't going to let it end there.Shaw, as KARE-11 points out, was ushered to the front of the stage where her sign was picked up on the Target Center projectors. Brooks then walked over to the fan, who has been battling Stage 3 breast cancer since June, and serenaded her sweetly. The singer then gave Shaw his guitar and kissed her on the head.Before the end of the song, Brooks commented on the sign in a truly powerful moment — see below."God just stuck his hand out and wrote this," he said about the sign.
