NBA Star with $44 Million Contract Reportedly Doesn't Want to Play Basketball Anymore
The world of professional sports often revolves around the following phrase: "It's a business." The constant travel, practice grind and lack of longterm security can suck the fun out of anyone's career, so it is no wonder there are excellent pro athletes who no longer play "for the love of the game."The current pro sports climate is such that when Milwaukee Bucks star Larry Sanders — who is slated to make $44 million over the next four years — reportedly told his team that he is tired of playing basketball, those who criticized him were not appalled at his lack of drive but rather the bad business decision he would be making by backing out of his contract.A player who quits in the middle of a contract is rare, but not because he or she loves the game. It is because they are leaving loads of money on the table and forging ahead with a bankroll that statistically has a good chance of drying up within the decade.Gery Woefel of the "Racine Journal Times" broke the Sanders story Monday, Jan. 5:Sources tell me that Bucks center Larry Sanders recently told some Bucks officials that he doesn't want to play basketball anymore. — Gery Woelfel (@GeryWoelfel) January 5, 2015 -

"Whenever an instrumental thing comes out, we know what it's going to sound like. But I really enjoy playing like that, and I promised myself when I first did it, 'I'm gonna do some country picking on here. I don't know if anybody will like it, but I'm gonna do it, and see what happens.' And people really enjoy it."Check out the tour dates below, via ANTI: -

There is no doubt that Taylor Swift's multi-platinum 2014 album "1989" riled up country fans. The 37-year-old "Talladega" singer told nola.com that he loves Swift's new stuff."From Taylor's standpoint, I think the record is brilliant," he said. "I own the record. You know what I love about it? It's creative. It's what she wanted to do."What she'll do next, I have no idea. And that's what I think is cool about it. I have no clue where she's heading. That's the exciting part. When you do something like that, it kind of shakes everything up so much — no pun intended — that you're intrigued. That's exciting to me." -

Jake McElfresh — aka Front Porch Step — has faced serious heat in recent days after several sexual assault allegations cropped up against him on social media. "Until I can do that in a complete manner with all the information I have at my disposal, I will not be continuing with any current touring activities for the time being."Recent tour partners Have Mercy and future tour partner Allison Weiss had already backed out of any forthcoming shows."We, Have Mercy, in no way condone the alleged actions that have come to light over the past week, and hope that message above all is clear to our fans," the band said. "Safety in music, and life, should never be risked for selfish decisions. We were incredibly excited at the opportunity to hit the road this spring, and that is still our top priority."There has also been a petition to boot Front Porch Step out of this year's Warped Tour lineup. Iran to Ban Rap Music? Ministry Sees Hip-Hop as 'Problem'
A few months ago, we reported that India was finally coming around to hip-hop. While the gigantic country does not host many rappers compared to the United States, it was a place for free expression and growth in the genre. Now, the somewhat-established Iran rap scene is in the news for a completely opposite reason: The country is trying to shut it down."The Jerusalem Post" reports that the Iranian government sees hip-hop as a threat to traditional music and a "problem."From the story:"For now and in the foreseen future, there is no real possibility that the Islamic regime will permit rap music concerts, in spite of a big underground music scene which includes this genre. In recent years, the Iranian regime arrested many Iranian rap band members and denied permission for concerts."All public concerts must be approved by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, while any requests must go through a bureaucratic process that "can take a few months.""This music encourages wild behavior that could have a detrimental effect on society," a spokesman said. "We don't want to have it and we will prevent any unwanted incidents normally associated with such concerts and other events." -
Hunter Hayes New Album: 'Storyline' Singer Spent Holidays Working on Music
Hunter Hayes was able to take a break from the road this Christmas season, but that does not mean he was not working on new material. The Louisiana native said he would be working with other songwriters during the holidays before heading to Nashville for a couple shows at the venerable Bluebird Café."My favorite thing to do is just go down to Louisiana — that's where I'm from — and just chill with the family," Hayes told Western TV in December. "Just go and sit on the couch and talk. Quality time is one of my favorite things in the world because we're always moving. So to sit still for a day is kind of unheard of."He reiterated that sentiment to ABC News Radio this week, but added in some work plans."I just wanna chill," he said. "I just got a little bit of time to be creative in my little studio at home. Got some writers that are coming out to hang."While being at home is nice, it's not exactly Hayes's favorite place to be. -

Eminem, D12 Reunion 'Can Definitely Happen,' According to Kuniva
It has now been more than a decade since the most recent D12 album, but fans of the Eminem-led group got good news this weekend when member Kuniva wrote that a recent collaboration for the "Shady XV" compilation might spark a full record."That was the first time we had recorded together in a long time," he wrote on SOHH. "It was like the first time, without Marshall, we had recorded something in like six or seven years."The chemistry was right there again. We never lost a step. I think a D12 reunion can definitely happen."Early in 2014, the "Detroit Free Press" published a profile about producer Mark Bass's ("Without Me," "Lose Yourself") upcoming projects. He told them he was busy mixing new tracks from D12, three of which featured Eminem.Perhaps those tracks had something to do with "Shady XV," but only one fresh cut made its way to the release. Now, Kuniva thinks the Dirty Dozen will make 2015 a special year.
