Above & Beyond Share Greek Theater Acoustic Show Video Recap [WATCH]
Possibly the most ambitious project ever undertaken by Above & Beyond, the trance super-trio of Tony McGuinness, Paavo Siljamäk and Jono Grant, set out to create an entire album's worth of material from their own back catalog and flip it from its electronic form into a playable acoustic arrangement. Much of 2013 was spent on this project, rearranging some of their existing work, finding the right musicians and rehearsing in anticipation their first show at the Porchester Theater in London on June 19, 2013. After premiered all of the work there at the Porchester Theater, the group took the newly remade sounds from the small London venue outside to the much larger, historic Greek Theater. One of the highlights of 2013 for the group, they got the whole thing on video and created a recap to give fans the highlights of what happened. -
Above & Beyond Release 'We Are All We Need' Album Minimix [LISTEN]
UK trance super-trio Above & Beyond have slowly been teasing the tracks from their upcoming studio album We Are All We Need, leaving fans restless for its Jan. 20 release date in 2015. The latest preview comes in the form of a short album minimix that gives fans a short snippet of each track in order of how they appear on the full 16-track LP. The minimix gives us a brief taste of each track on the album, including how vocalists Zoë Johnston and Alex Vargas excel over each track, as well as a cheeky return to singing by group member Tony McGuinness -
Hakkasan To Purchase 90 Percent Stake of Morgans Hotel-Owned Light Group
When the Hakkasan opened up the most expensive club ever built in the world in April 2013, CEO Neil Moffitt said they were not satisfied with where they stood. With the $100 million, 80,000 square-foot mega-club - the largest of its kind in North America - Hakkasan has established itself as a major player in the hyper competitive Las Vegas club scene. The club has decided to expand its reach as a hospitality brand and has been aggressively looking to acquire rival clubs within the space. Their latest move according to Forbes, is set to complete a negotiation with Morgans Hotel Group over their stake in the Light Group, the owners of Light Nightclub and 1 Oak. -
Above & Beyond Releases #ABGT100 Recap, Taking You Behind the Scenes at Madison Square Garden [WATCH]
Above & Beyond has released the aftermovie for the landmark performance at Madison Square Garden Oct. 18. A celebration of the 100th episode of their rebranded radio show "Group Therapy" and 550th episode overall, #ABGT100 was a six-hour extravaganza that featured three of their preferred label mates: Mat Zo, Andrew Bayer and ilan Bluestone. The aftermovie does not show many clips from the night because they recorded the video and audio for their set and put it online, but follows the trance super-trio in the lead-up to the actual show.We follow them as they go around New York, taking care of many different media engagements before ending up in Times Square at night, where they premiered the video for the lead single "We're All We Need" featuring Zoë Johnston from their upcoming artist album "We Are All We Need." The aftermovie includes a preview of a new song with Zoë Johnston made appropriately just for the occasion, titled "Fly to New York." -
Above & Beyond Debut 'All Over the World' with Pete Tong on BBC Radio One [LISTEN]
As Above & Beyond ready their upcoming album "We Are All We Need," the U.K. trance super-trio are dishing out radio premieres of new singles from themselves. Calling upon MBE BBC Radio One legend Pete Tong, Jono, Paavo & Tony premiered their often-requested ID "All Over the World" from their Madison Square Garden show, featuring the vocals from newfound vocal collaborator Alex Vargas.Set to be their next single, "All Over the World" has the anthemic stylings of their previous single "Blue Sky Action" and continues their shift toward more club- and larger-room-oriented tracks. -

They will be hitting major concert venues and hot spots in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, back to back shows at Echostage in Washington DC and elsewhere. -

Trance super-trio Above & Beyond — Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki — stopped by with Google two weeks ago before their sold-out Madison Square Garden performance Oct. 18 to have a chat with Google and some lucky fans. They talked about their upcoming artist album, We Are All We Need, their performance at MSG — a first for British DJs — Burning Man, ABGT 100 and more.According to Dancing Astronaut, They touched on a whole range of topics, not just the album and the live show, over the span of the 38-minute chat at Google headquarters in New York City. -
DJMag's Top 10 DJ's of The Past Five Years: Music Times Calculates for Dutch Domination (and Hardwell Doesn't Even Appear!)
Just to further up the controversy, Music Times asks not who was the best DJ in the last year, but who was was the best DJ of the last five years? Our formula wasn't too complicated...we just averaged the rankings of everyone featured on the DJMag Top 100 list in the last five years. That does cause some major issues for some contestants however. Hardwell has been no. 1 for the last two years but he didn't place during 2010, suggesting a rank of at leads 101, and thereby making his mean ranking skyrocket. The name of our game is consistency. -
Afrojack, Above & Beyond and W&W doing Hakkasan residencies in Las Vegas during 2014
One of our big points when analyzing Forbes' list of the highest-paid DJ's of the previous year was noting that many of the big money-makers were affiliated with Las Vegas nightclub Hakkasan, the star player in a city filled with star players. The club, part of the MGM Grand, welcomed in even more big names for residencies during 2014.
