Music, usually specified by genres, has been kicked out many a house over the years.   • Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper and Joe Perry Form Supergroup 'The Hollywood Vampires': Trio Will Play Rock in Rio

    Johnny Depp finally took the plunge. The actor, who has been known to play guitar with some of rock's biggest names, has joined Alice Cooper and Joe Perry of Aerosmith to form "The Hollywood Vampires." Even more impressive, the supergroup already has a gig scheduled. The trio will play at the Rock in Rio festival in Las Vegas in May. Queens of the Stone Age, Faith No More and System of a Down are also scheduled to play the event.

    Joe Perry released a four-song EP of holiday tunes last week that feature guitar work by actor Johnny Depp, who's been known to jam with the pros from time to time. The Aerosmith guitarist dropped a video today (December 11) for his rendition of Chuck Berry's amped-up classic "Run Run Rudolph." Perry's axe work is awesome, as usually, but where's Steven Tyler when you need him?

    The three remaining members of Led Zeppelin may never reunite. Fans of the band have probably accepted that fact even though stories have surfaced saying that deals are in the works (and then they've turned out to be false). The main issue is between Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. Page is for a reunion, Plant is against one. John Paul Jones probably doesn't care anymore. So the possibility of the band playing some shows with another lead singer exists, right? Enter Heart's Ann Wilson.

    Though Aerosmith is not on tour, the "Walk This Way" band's guitarist, Joe Perry, has kept himself quite busy. He just released his new memoir, "Rocks: My Life In And Out Of Aerosmith," about his career working with his own band and in Aerosmith. Just in time for the holidays, Perry has released a special Christmas themed EP for fans to enjoy, featuring actor and budding musician Johnny Depp on rhythm guitar. The EP titled Joe Perry's Merry Christmas, covers four iconic Christmas songs, "White Christmas," "Run Run Rudolph," "Silent Night" and "Santa Claus Is Back In Town."

  • CMA Country Christmas: Steven Tyler, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson and More Play Holiday Favorites [WATCH]

    The 2014 edition of the "CMA Country Christmas" special aired last night, Dec. 1, and it featured some big names and classic tunes. Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson and Little Big Town were on hand to spread some holiday cheer. Aerosmith's Steven Tyler stopped by, and the whole event was hosted by Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles, who has been in control of the show for the last few years. Carrie Underwood, Hunter Hayes and Lucy Hale all contributed songs.A few of the highlights from the show came in the form of duets between artists of the country persuasion and guests from other genres. Tyler and Paisley teamed up for a revved-up version of "Run, Run Rudolph" that showcased the country star's guitar chops. The Aerosmith frontman has let on recently that he will be working on his next solo effort in Nashville, so this is a nice welcome to the scene.Check out the harmonica solo at 3:25:
