Jennifer Aniston Embraced Makeunder for Oscar-Contending Role in 'Cake'
Finally, Jennifer Aniston has a movie coming out that is generating some serious buzz. "Cake" is an upcoming indie drama that, after premiering to a standing ovation at the Toronto Film Festival, already has the phrase "Oscar contender" attached to it. The reaction was so amazing that producers intentionally decided to release it before the end of this year so it can be considered for the 2015 Academy Awards. For Aniston, one of the most empowering parts of doing this film was the fact that she was required to wear no makeup for her role.In Cake, Aniston portrays Claire Simmons, a woman who suffers a car crash that leaves her with scars all over her body. She was photographed on set last spring with no makeup and a plain, brown bob. As it turns out, Aniston would have had it no other way, as she has said that the first time she read the script she felt herself in character, shooting the scenes — that is how real Claire was to her.Aniston recently spoke about not having to look glamorous onscreen for a change and how she embraced her makeunder. -
