    Day Of The Dead, the forthcoming Grateful Dead tribute album which features 59 tracks and over five hours' worth of music curated and compiled by The National's Aaron and Bryce Dessner, is due to drop May 20. In advance of its release, the pair have shared the first five cuts: "Touch Of Grey" performed by The War On Drugs, Courtney Barnett's "New Speedway Boogie," "Sugaree" by Phosphorescent and Jenny Lewis, "Black Muddy River" by Bruce Hornsby and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon with DeYarmond Edison, and the National's own take on "Morning Dew."

    Los Angeles's Day Of The Dead took place over Halloween weekend on Saturday, Nov. 1 and Sunday Nov. 2. Produced by Hard Events, the festival broke ground at the Pomona Fairplex, just outside of Los Angeles. Like other festivals that have preceded it, Hard Day Of The Dead has released its scintillating aftermovie featuring cameos from its laundry list of performers like Zedd, Calvin Harris, deadmau5, Bassnectar, Diplo, Eric Prydz and others. The festival had its largest lineup to date, with music lasting 11 hours on over five different stages.

    The newfound partnership between kings of the progressive deadmau5 and Eric Prydz took a new step forward this past weekend. At Gary Richard's Hard Day of the Dead, the two hosted their own stage with a selection of hand-picked artists and then closed out the night with a rare, two-hour, back-to-back set. Some intrepid soul was kind enough to sacrifice their own experience for the benefit of everyone by recording the whole thing and then putting it on YouTube.Taking place at the Pomona Fairplex over Halloween weekend — Saturday, Nov. 1, and Sunday, Nov. 2 — Prydz and deadmau5 hosted their own Mau5ville stage. The name "Mau5ville" is the convenient combination of their two labels: "Mau5trap" for deadmau5 and "Mouseville" for Prydz. They brought on some friends, including Eekkoo, Jeremy Olander, Alesia and the mysterious and much-hyped ZHU with them Saturday.

    HARD's Day of The Dead electronic music festival may be taking place a a little later than the actual Day of The Dead, but the organizers have gathered quite a lineup to make up for the fact. The event will go down at L.A. State Historic Park in Los Angeles during the weekend of November 2 and 3. The festival's website released the lineups of each of the four stages on Friday, all presented on some pretty awesome looking posters themed to the Mexican holiday the show is aligned with.
