• Music Times Matches Republican Debate Candidates (Trump et al) with Opening Acts

    The Republican Debates will air tonight on FOX, and many will be tuning in to hear what Donald Trump will say...versus actually trying to educate themselves on who the best candidate for the right side of the aisle might be. Music Times doesn't write too much about politics but we know something, duh, about music, so we've come up with an act or musician to accompany all ten of tonight's candidates. Check out our reasoning below, with the candidates ordered just as FOX has them ranked heading into the big event.

  • Waka Flocka Flame Slags Donald Trump Over Mexican Rapists Comments

    Republican presidential hopeful, TV personality and businessman Donald Trump got himself into some boiling hot water when he made the remarks during his speech officially announcing his bid at the White House in 2016 that said some Mexican immigrants to the United States are rapists. Other candidates have tried to side-step the matter until recently, notably those vying for the GOP nod, but one man who is unable to run but still going for it anyway, Waka Flocka Flame, is not standing for Trump's antics.

  • Canadian Politicians Use Nine Inch Nails' Logo for Alberta Campaign

    Musicians are rarely too excited to find out that their work is being used as part of a political campaign, as Neil Young demonstrated this week and we have a hunch Trent Reznor will demonstrate soon enough. A trio of Canadian politicians have taken the logo from Reznor's band, Nine Inch Nails, and placed it on merchandise for their respective campaigns.

Earlier this week, entrepreneur and The Apprentice star Donald Trump announced his bid for the Republican nomination, and Cher is having none of it. After the presidential hopeful's announcement, the legendary pop singer went in on Trump on Twitter, handing him plenty of shade along the way.

Unfortunately, Glanville and the others are often talking over drinks, so she has also been accused of being an alcoholic, something the star dismisses pretty quickly. But she does know that her behavior can be pretty bad at times, so when the opportunity rolled around to appear on "Celebrity Apprentice," she jumped on it so her son could watch.

    Have you been watching the current season of "Celebrity Apprentice?" If so, then you're well aware of the fact that Kate Gosselin was fired on this week's episode. If you have seen her on any of the other reality shows that she has graced with her presence, you know that Gosselin is usually a force that no one really wants to reckon with. For some odd reason, that strong, control-freak woman didn't seem to show up at all on Donald Trump's show, making it kind of amazing that she lasted for as long as she did!

  • In Spite of Scandal, Donald Trump Lets Us All Know How Cool He Still Thinks Bill Cosby Is on Premiere of 'Celebrity Apprentice'

    Keshia Knight Pulliam found herself in the unenviable position of being the first person fired from "Celebrity Apprentice" last night, Jan. 4, and the reason she was cut so quickly is raising eyebrows this morning. The show was actually filmed in May 2014, several months before the sexual abuse scandal surrounding Bill Cosby would reignite and threaten to destroy his career. But it was because Pulliam did not call Cosby for a donation that she was ultimately fired and Donald Trump's support of the man was epic.The final few minutes in the boardroom were pretty awkward for everyone watching, as Trump grilled Pulliam on her choice not to reach out to Cosby."Did you call Bill?" Trump asked her."I did not," Pulliam said, crying. "I have not talked to Bill Cosby on the phone in I don't know how long. So for me to pick up the phone, having not talked to you for five years, except for when we run into each other for a Cosby event — I feel that's not my place to do.""I really believe, if you'd called that gentleman, he would've helped you, even if you hadn't spoken to him in years, because you were an amazing team with one of the most successful shows ever. So I think it would've been a very good call to make for charity. But you have to take responsibility. I think you agree with that," said Trump.

    Southern hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd have shared the music video for their latest single "Up Like Trump," which you can check out below. The video features the duo partying it up in New York City like they own the place — that is probably where the Donald Trump reference comes in — complete with shots of Times Square and someone dressed up like the Statue of Liberty — which is technically in Jersey City, but whatever.
