    "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" aired its second installment of Mean Tweets Music Edition last night, Feb. 2, and it was pretty brutal. Twitter users hurled their best insults at artists like Wiz Khalifa, Drake and Blake Shelton. Also included in the segment were Katy Perry, Josh Groban and 5 Seconds of Summer. As always, the segment provided plenty of laughs at the expense of the celebrities.

Beyoncé's surprise self-titled album will be hard to beat. It was, in the truest sense, the most influential album of the year. The effort was unprecedented as far as marketing, promotion and the massive visual component that tied everything together. With no prior promotion, it sold more than 828,773 copies in the first three days, which is impressive in an era where streaming and piracy are killing sales of actual downloads.

    Sam Smith is gearing up for what will be the biggest night of his career so far. Last year was huge for the singer, who conquered the charts with his debut "In the Lonely Hour" thanks largely to the standout single "Stay With Me." In a new interview with "Rolling Stone," Smith talks about comparisons to Adele, his sexuality and why he will give Beyoncé the Album of the Year Award if he wins.

  • Fall Out Boy and Meghan Trainor Set January Mark with New Albums on Billboard 200, while Taylor Swift Stays Comfortable

    Fall Out Boy and a slew of other new albums broke the dam and brought forth a flood of debuts back onto the Billboard 200 after the holiday sales lull. That band's American Beauty/American Psycho premiered at no. 1 with 218,000 equivalent albums sold, and its 192,000 actual album sales teamed with Meghan Trainor's debut last week for the first pair of albums released during January to top 150,000 apiece since 2010. American Beauty marked a significant uptick in sales from the band's 2013 album Save Rock and Roll.

    There's a sense of comradery in the British music scene, at least between Ed Sheeran and Noel Gallagher. After the former Oasis frontman slammed the "Thinking Out Loud" singer, claiming he "didn't want to live in a world where [Ed Sheeran playing Wembley] is possible," Sheeran has a peace offering: a pair of tickets to the very show that causes Gallagher such distress.

    It's that time again, where Music Times break down the difference between the Billboard 200 and who actually moved the albums. This week's crown belongs to Meghan Trainor of course, who came up just short of the 200,000 album mark with Title. As we mentioned yesterday with the 200 roundup, it's the biggest sales debut from a solo performer since Susan Boyle released her first album during 2009.

    It's another funky week at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. For the third week in a row, Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars's infectious Uptown Special single "Uptown Funk" has topped the U.S. Singles Chart, holding off Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift from the chart's summit. And though it's a great week for the British producer, another new debut is coming hard for the charts: Maroon 5's "Sugar."

    The rate at which Taylor Swift has been at the top of the Billboard 200 has been chopped down to 75 percent this week as Meghan Trainor takes the crown with Title. The album moved 238,000 equivalent albums, marking the highest debut for any solo performer since Susan Boyle during 2009. The "All About That Bass" vocalist joins One Direction and J. Cole as the only performers to interrupt Swift since 1989 came out 12 weeks ago. We'll see what happens next week with regard to that streak.
