• MTV EMAs 2015 Nominations: Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber Lead European Show

    The 2015 MTV VMAs may already be one for the books, but the MTV Europe Music Awards are still around the corner. On Tuesday (Sept. 15), the international leg of MTV announced its full nominees for this year's EMAs, and despite a European flavor to the nods, American pop superstar Taylor Swift and Canadian Justin Bieber lead the nominees.

    Ellie Goulding has a unique approach to self-advertisement and used an artsy GIF to announce her new album's release. The GIF was posted to her Instagram and Twitter and the release date is scheduled for this Thursday (Sept. 17), and it seems 2015 has been an exceedingly good year for the singer, with a spot on both the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' soundtrack with her song "Love Me Like You Do" and an appearance in Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" music video, which officially rockets her onto the Hollywood A-list.

Held in Bellahouston Park, an estimated 35,000 people attended the event to view headliner Calvin Harris, who frequently collaborates with Goulding, and John Newman.

That sort of hype helped it grab the record for most views in a 24-hour period on VEVO, taking the prize from Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda." Overall, it's a good week for male rappers on the chart as Fetty Wap's "Trap Queen" ascends to a new high and T-Wayne's viral hit "Nasty Freestyle" breaks into the top 10.
