Erykah Badu Drops 'They Die By Dawn,' An "All-Star Cast Black Western," On Jay Z's TIDAL [TRAILER]
Since its launch last month, artists including Beyoncé and Rihanna have used Jay Z's new streaming service, TIDAL, to drop exclusive material. Now Erykah Badu has debuted new content in the form of a short Western film. Titled They Die By Dawn, the film is a "black western" with an "all-star cast" that includes Badu, Michael K. Williams, Rosario Dawson, Jesse Williams, Isaiah Washington, Giancarlo Esposito, Nate Parker, Bokeem Woodbine and Karry Lennix. Directed by The Bullitts' Jeymes Samuels, the 50-minute film explores the different types of characters that existed in the first Black settlements post-slavery. -

Erykah Badu has teamed up with some adorable collaborators — her daughters. In a video posted to YouTube, Badu and her daughters Puma and Mars perform an a cappella version of Colbie Caillat's "Try." Badu posted the YouTube video to her Facebook page with the caption "Do you like you?" referencing the song's message of non-conformity and self-love. It has now been shared more than 91,850 times with more than 180,000 likes. -
Erykah Badu Busks in Times Square, Nobody Recognizes Her [WATCH]
Erykah Badu has shared a self-made, iPhone-shot video through OkayPlayer, which shows the legendary neo-soul singer doing some solo busking in Times Square to a bunch of predictably unimpressed New Yorkers. With the exception of one person during the video's monologue introduction, nobody seems to recognize Badu, and by the video's end she has made just $3.60 — though she seems excited by how much she earned.
