Antemasque clarifies that Flea is not actually a member of the band, gives details on upcoming album
Last week, we reported on the new band Antemasque, helmed by Mars Volta frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala, guitarist Omar Rodríguez-López and drummer Dave Elitch. According to Rolling Stone, the band's label, Nadie, has clarified Flea's involvement in the project: he did play on some of Antemasque's recordings but is not actually a member of Antemasque. They included him in last week's teaser video only as a "thank you" for letting the group use his studio. -

Known for his wild bass licks and for rocking tube socks and a Mohawk, Flea has performed at the Super Bowl, voice acted for Disney cartoons, played with The Mars Volta and Atoms for Peace, worked on soundtracks and even dabbled in acting. Atoms for Peace Make TV Debut on The Daily Show, Play 'Default' Off 'Amok' and "Harrowdown Hall' Off 'The Eraser' [WATCH]
Thom Yorke (Radiohead) and Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) from and Atoms for Peace stopped by The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night to promote their world tour and make their television debut. The band, which also includes Nigel Godrich (Radiohead), Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M.) and Mauro Refosco (For in the Dark), released its debut album, Amok, back in February.
