The David Byrne tribute concert at Carnegie Hall last night, March 24, included some special guests performing tunes by the Talking Heads. Sharon Jones, O.A.R. and Glen Hansard were on hand to honor the singer, who also unleashed a cover of "Uptown Funk" with a marching band. The show benefited music programs for underprivileged children, 'Consequence of Sound' noted. -
Glen Hansard Announces US Tour Dates [FULL SCHEDULE]
Glen Hansard just announced a 10-city U.S. tour for 2015.The 44-year-old "will be performing songs from throughout his career," a press release said.That includes his best-known work from the movie "Once" — "Falling Slowly," which won an Oscar — and other stints with The Frames and The Swell Seasons. Hansard also has a solo album — 2012's "Rhythm & Response" — to work from.According to "Consequence of Sound," Hansard's backing musicians will include bassist Brad Albetta (Rufus & Martha Wainwright), keyboardist Thomas Bartlett (Doveman, The National) and string musician Rob Moose (yMusic, Bon Iver). -
