One of the trending music stories in recent week's has been Concert Hotel's graph displaying the greatest vocal ranges in popular music. Axl Rose of the Guns 'n' Roses came out on top in the study, with Mariah Carey following closely behind. The problem is that people who pay attention to the actual science of music are also into a lot of obscure music. VVN Music hasn't gone totally off the grid with its own analysis, but it has introduced some more names for your consideration. -

When a band has an appetite for destruction such as the Guns 'n' Roses, it's tough to stay away from Las Vegas for long. Rock on The Range, based in Columbus, OH, is the place to be for those into "weight room rock." The show's eighth incarnation brings headliners again. -

Bad news for hair metal mavens everywhere: Vocalist Vince Neil has announced that Mötley Crüe's next tour will be the band's final trek, and his band is in agreement (unlike say, when Scott Weiland announces that Velvet Revolver won't tour ever again). -
The Replacements Make New Lineup Clear, No News About Future After Riot Fest Reunion Shows
Not too much is known about The Replacements' plans for existence outside of a trio of Riot Fest festival dates. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune was able to confirm the band's lineup for the three dates however, another piece of information that was up for grabs as it was known original members Slim Dunlap and Steve Foley would not be present. Foley died of an prescription drug overdose in 2009, and Dunlap suffered a stroke in 2012. -
